About Us

Louise grew up near Honiton. At the age of 18, she left her family home to go to art school where she met Pete. After relocating to London following the couple’s graduation, Louise and Pete then moved to Bristol where they worked at Aardman Animations on the lm Chicken Run… and also opened a very successful gift shop in Clifton Village.

After years of city life, they dreamt of living by the sea, and one day, it just seemed like the right time—the kids were young and also loved the beach! So, in 2008, Louise, Pete, Ellie and Sid moved to Lyme Regis. They then spent the next 14 years working in hospitality due to their love of food and created The Good Food Store and the well-renowned Poco Pizza, both in based in Lyme and still going strong today.

In 2022, Louise and Pete decided to hang up their aprons and go back into retail; a business that Louise had been brought up in and had missed. They were lucky enough to know Sue and Andy, who owned Coombe Street Gallery, and were offered the chance to buy the business which they jumped at!

They feel so lucky to live in such a beautiful place and to be the owners of such a well-loved shop that has been a Lyme favourite for the past 20 years. Enjoying the business so much, they then opened a second shop in Sidmouth four months later…who knows where they’ll be next?
